LCD Series

Kyowa's LCD series of contact angle meters have large stages applicable to glass sheets used for flat panel production of younger generations, available in three models for 400 x 400mm, 700 x 700mm, and 700 x 900mm.

Features

  • Compatible with Kyowa's FAMAS integrated software
  • Measurement of dynamic variations over time is possible with the fastest image capture (max. 60 fps).
  • All models are designed to watch droplets from the horizontal section without tilt, for an accurate contact angle measurement even for small contact angles on cleaned glass.
  • Three models accommodate maximum panel sizes of 400 x 400mm, 700 x 700mm, and 700 x 900mm.
  • Includes a Standard Droplet Sample for periodic calibration and inspection.
  • Contact angle is sensitive enough to show differences of even a monolayer order of organic contamination.
  • Threshold adjustment to get optimum image for analysis.

LCD Series Explainer

In the process of thin film deposition, the surface to be coated must be carefully treated. This process may include the removal of organic contamination, control of adhesive properties, and evaluation of the treatment, in order to ensure a quality production yield.

A contact angle meter is widely used for evaluation, valued for its simple operation and quick feedback. Special environmental conditions like controlled pressure and temperature are not required.

Applications

The following conditions of substrates like sheet glasses, wafers, etc. are evaluated or studied:

  • Cleanliness of substrates after cleaning:
  • Removal of organic contamination, residual of photo resist, etc.
  • Wettability/adhesiveness of coating materials to substrates:
  • Photo resists, PI film, etc.
  • Surface characterization of coated films by surface free energy:
  • Modified surfaces, orientation film, ITO surface, etc.
